Program

Nine to Noon

Each weekday morning, CKUA presents a tasteful blend of folk, jazz, pop and world beat on Nine to Noon. Often, the program also features live interviews and performances by visiting musicians.

Host Lionel Rault, a veteran singer-songwriter, performer and recording artist, shares his own musical influences—which include R&B, Chicago blues, country à la Hank Williams, gospel, reggae, Dylan, the Beatles and The Band—and a lot more. Drawing on four decades of gigs in venues ranging from private parties for the rich and famous to biker bars and strip clubs, Lionel programs Nine to Noon like a live performance, determining whether a track would appeal to any or all of those audiences.

For those who believe that music is a celebration of life and the human spirit Nine to Noon… weekdays from (you guessed it) 9:00 a.m. to noon on CKUA and rebroadcast Tuesday to Saturday mornings from 12 midnight to 3:00am.
