The last performances of St. Aggie's 84, a
musical based loosely on Shakespeare's play Love's Labour's
Lost, are at 7:30 PM tonight and tomorrow in the Old Cycle
Building, 9131 118th Avenue in Edmonton. The cast comprises
students and alumni from the Strathcona High School Theatre

The Amici String Program presents the first annual Calgary
Stringfest, featuring artists of the Stringfest Summer
School program. The final student and faculty recital is at
7:30 PM tonight in Scarboro United Church, 134 Scarboro Avenue

Vocalists and guitarists Lindsay Walker and Drew Malcolm
perform at 7:00 tonight at The Carrot, 9351 118th Avenue in

The Canmore Folk Festival presents a U22 showcase
of folk singers and songwriters tonight at Communitea Café,

Vancouver's six-piece Brickhouse Band plays blues-funk
music tonight at the Shamrock Hotel, 2101 11th Street SE in
Calgary.

Saturday, July 31
The Calgary Fringe Festival begins today and runs
through August 7th in Inglewood, Calgary's oldest neighbourhood.
The non-juried, uncensored artistic event features innovative
local, national, and international theatrical productions.

Pavilions representing 64 nations are featured at Edmonton's
Heritage Festival, which opens at noon today and runs
through Monday, August 2nd, in Hawrelak Park. Enjoy dancing
and music; sample ethnic cuisine; shop for crafts and clothing;
or chat with people about their cultures. Admission is free

In the Helen Christou Gallery at 4401 University Drive on
the University of Lethbridge campus, Collage Aux
Folles explores collage as a both a formative creative
process and an elevated fine art technique. Artists include
Ron Kitaj, Deborah Shackleton, Takao Tanabe, and Tony Urquhart.

Music in the Gallery blends art and music in the
evocative atmosphere of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies,
111 Bear Street in Banff. The concert on Sunday, August
1st, begins at 4:00 PM, and tickets are by donation at the

The Trevor Tchir Band plays original acoustic music
